12. How do I choose the right size at LIZ & JOE?
The easiest way to find your size is by using our size guide. Note:
garments of the same size can fit differently, depending on the design.

13. Information about materials
LIZ & JOE prefers to use natural materials, silk, linnen, cotton, viscose. Natural fibers are derived of plants (cellulose) or animals (protein). These textiles are usually the most comfortable. Only in rare cases irritations or allergies do occur.
Silk:is made of protein fiber, created by the silkworm. Some silks are very thin and shiny, others are thick, matt and woven irregularly. Wearing silk garments is recommended for skin problems like allergies, eczema and psoriasis. Silk can absorb liquid up to 30% of its own weight and also let it evaporate quickly. Silk is airy, warms you up fast and also cools you down fast. It is warm in winter and cool in summer.
Cotton: a textile made of a cellulose fiber, derived of the cotton plant. The material is popular because it breaths, absorbing liquid easily and letting it evaporate quickly.
Viscose: is made of wood cellulose. Garments of viscose are soft, skin-friendly and drape beautifully around the body. Viscose can shrink easily, so don’t wash it too hot.

14. How do I wash my LIZ & JOE clothes ?
Since hand-dyed clothes can still give off colour it is better to wash seperately the first times, in order not to change the colour of your other clothes. If washing by hand don’t soak it for a long time. Do not make use of bleach. Preferably don’t use the dryer as your garments may shrink, and the fabric may deteriorate quickly.
Silk is best washed by hand. Add a few drops of vinegar to keep the colour. Don’t wring but gently sqeeze out surplus water. In case you do use the washing machine: choose a silk / wool program, or the most gentle program at 30 degrees Celcius (silk doesn’t take on dirt easily, so hot water is not necessary). Make use of a silk / wool detergent, your clothes will remain soft. Don’t use bleach, spin dry or use the dryer. Hang it in a shady place to dry instead. Ironing: silk can be ironed on a low temperature, preferably on the inside.
Viscose is washed at 40 degrees Celcius maximum, to prevent your outfit from having another size soon. Viscose can best be washed by hand or with the washing machine, choosing a short program.
Cotton usually is a reasonably strong textile, and easy to iron. Shrinking can be prevented by washing at 30 to 40 degrees Celcius maximum.
Knitted clothes: choose the wool / silk program of your washing machine. In case you wash by hand, which is always better, gently sqeeze the surplus water. After washing bring back the garment to its original shape and and let it dry horizontally.

15. Do LIZ & JOE garments shrink?
Most LIZ & JOE clothes do not shrink a lot after having been dyed at a high temperature.

16. Does LIZ & JOE make use of child labour?
All LIZ & JOE clothes are made by Liz Streefkerk in The Netherlands and sometimes in Greece.

17. Influence on the environment
LIZ & JOE’s policy is to reduce its footprint on the environment. Silk is dyed with environmentally friendly dyes. Some garments, such as scarfs and patchwork blouses are specifically designed to use as much as possible of the textile leftovers that would otherwise end up in the waistbin.
